Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
Dakota, Spitfire & Hurricane · Royal Air Force
A flying tribute all four days: Dakota ZA947 ‘Kwicherbichen’ with a Spitfire and Hurricane, the sound of 1940 over the Channel.
The Dakota still wears invasion stripes — the same scheme used on D-Day transport aircraft in 1944.
Supported at Eastbourne by Horder Healthcare.
Who flies it
BBMF aircrew
RAF display pilots
The Memorial Flight is flown by serving RAF aircrew from Coningsby. Crews rotate through the season, so the faces in the cockpit change — the aircraft and the tribute do not.
